Chronicle is a local-first app. Your notes, sessions, and reflections never leave your device.
What we collect
When you activate early access, we collect:
- A machine identifier — a hashed ID generated from your hardware, not personally identifiable
- Your activation code — used to verify early access status
This data is sent to a server solely to manage your early access status. No email, no name, no account.
What we do not collect
- Your name, email, or any personal information
- Your notes, session data, reflections, or any files
- Usage analytics or telemetry of any kind
- Crash reports or diagnostics
Network requests
Chronicle makes network requests only for early access activation and periodic status checks. These requests send your machine identifier and receive your access status in return. No other data is transmitted.
Data retention
Early access records (machine identifier and activation status) are stored for the duration of the early access period. To have your data removed, email hello@getchronicle.app.
